34 weeks and I think I can use my "right to complain card" now....lol
....Oh my! I am now 34 weeks and since yesterday....I think...I am...entitled to complain now since....if you ask anyone that's been in my company, I've been a pretty stand up trooper considering my symptoms and circumstances lol. I have been trying to keep an optimistic frame of mind, mind over matter kinda thinking and now....I am "OVER" it lol. My body has finally decided to give in to these last 5 weeks....and has now surrendered. I mean, my entire back--from the nape of my neck all the way down to my lower back...feels like someone karate chopped me and kicked my back in! Now aside from the already very obvious waddle in my walk, I am now moving along like a crippled old person because every movement now aches and it's....just not so nice, hummmmmmpppphhhhhh. YET, I am still trying to keep my wits about myself...
...I have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday so I will have to ask them about my symptoms. I do feel like I might be having contractions because my lower abdomen is tightening and then loosening but it's not frequent enough to cause me any concern...and I also have a dull headache that seems to linger...but I'm just trying to stay hydrated and relax and stay calm and hope that it's just my body getting tired and preparing for Portia to come in the next few weeks. At this rate, I truly believe she is coming SOON...maybe within the next 2 weeks...I will be very surprised if I make it to December 30th...Bengay seems to be my best friend as once I apply it, it totally relaxes my muscles and helps me sleep...but I don't want to smell like peppermint all day every day yet I guess, with the holidays, it wouldn't be totally out of place lol.
...Gregg has been fabulous to say the least...he is doing the Christmas decorations since I am unable to and is really doing a great job...I am hoping to get my Christmas shopping done in this next week so I can finish wrapping gifts, organizing the house and just getting ready for baby. I realize now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, the days will fly by and I won't have enough time to get things done...so I really have to stay positive and motivate myself to get things done...Gregg is also doing alot of baking which he does love to do---it just seems like so much since I'm not able to help him as much as I would like to...I guess, I can help him eat everything lol.
...I will probably do a vlog sometime this week about my doctor's appointment and whatever else I'm in the mood or have the energy to do but just for fun, here is a picture that Vanessa took of me last night...it's quite...telling lol...of how ready I am to just have this baby and they always say that last month is brutal...mentally, physically and also esthetically....I am just not w/the "preggo glow" anymore...lol; I barely put my "face" on and it looks like I'm just about done, lol.

32wk3d preggers vlog and 33wk3d blog....
...Here is a video I did last week but forgot to post...just mindless babble lol...enjoy!
...So it's Monday, Nov. 21st and I'm 33wks and 3 days preggers...I am only 6 weeks away from my scheduled c-section YET I am secretly hoping the baby will make her appearance in 3 or 4 weeks instead, lol. We officially announced to everyone that we are having a girl! Her name will be Portia Mi-Lan and we are so excited for her to be here with us already!!!
...So Portia's name is very special to us and I love that I don't know anyone in my immediate circle of friends that already have the name although I do know it to be popular in history. The origins of her name is explained in this definition:
I read the story The Merchant of Venice from Shakespeare both in high school and again in college and completely loved the character and her heroism and her role in the story. I find it very feminine and empowering and a strong name which is fabulous! Mi-Lan is actually Vietnamese and means American Lily and is so fitting as it matches Vanessa's name too...her Vietnamese name is Lan-Anh which also means lily and so there is a special connection between their names which I love. Mi-Lan also looks like "Milan, Italy" which adds to the Italian flair of the name altogether and it's just so funny that Gregg and I loved it from the very beginning and agreed on it without even a thought and it stuck all the way til now...:)
...We had our baby shower on Sat. November 12th and let me tell you, it was awesome! We had such a great time that we forgot to take pictures lol...I mean, we did, but very random nothing formal or posed...some pix of me going batty over opening gifts but mostly our baby shower was a shindig of a celebration, lol. We had nearly 50 people all over our house! Families, kids, parents, singles mingling and eating and laughing and playing poker and just having a great time! I was so happy to see everyone and also to witness everyone having such an awesome time totally made my day! We were so lucky to have so many people join us and celebrate with us and I scored some great gifts from family and friends and LOTS of giftcards which was absolutely what I wanted so I could finish my shopping off the registry.
My girlfriends, Chantille and Raleysha and my baby sister, Evon totally went all out w/the food and desserts and decorations and my friend, Cory was super sweet to take my husband and I out to eat as a distraction since we weren't allowed to be home while they decorated. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better day and truly felt so blessed to be loved this way by everyone, it made me heart swell and soft. :) I am very thankful.
Chantille had some great projects set up like a canvas with a tree superimposed onto it with separate leaf cutouts for guests to sign or design or decorate any way they wanted and then we could attach them to the canvas and hang it up to decorate the wall above Portia's sleeping area. She also got a great print of another tree and used everyone's fingerprints to make leaves onto it as well, it is so cool! Raleysha made this amazing poster to guess the arrival date of the baby but it is so beautiful, I can't bear to not use it to decorate with! We gave out personalized playing cards for the favors to the adults and Vanessa gave out kids' playing cards, brainteaser cube games, mini plush alien toys and wind-up catepillars to the kiddies.
Chantille made chocolate cupcakes w/ questions marks on top filled with pink strawberry icing to announce the gender of the baby that were super cute and tasty too! Seriously, it was a baby shower to remember and I was so lucky to be the recipient of it all! :) Thank you girls, Love you always!
Unfortunately, we never got to do our ONESIES decorating that I had planned since it was so busy with socializing and mingling, but I did do some on my own prior to the party as examples and will probably work on doing some more before the holidays w/Vanessa and Gregg so that we have some personalized ones for Portia that will be super cute! Here are the ones I did:
...So Portia's name is very special to us and I love that I don't know anyone in my immediate circle of friends that already have the name although I do know it to be popular in history. The origins of her name is explained in this definition:
Portia \p(o)-rtia, por-tia\ as a girl's name is pronounced POR-shah. It is of Latin origin meaning gift or offering. Feminine form of a Roman clan name,"Porcius" which means Pig in it's masculine form. Portia was used by Shakespeare as the name of a clever, determined young heroine in "The Merchant of Venice" who disguises herself as a lawyer to save her husband's life. Actress Portia de Rossi.
....Ha ha as a nickname I will probably call my baby "miss piggy" as she is sure to be a cutie w/juicy legs just like I like it! :) ♥

Here are the ones I did:
Even though I consider myself pretty crafty, this is the first time I've ever used ...well actually 2nd time since I just used fabric paints for the first time when I made the halloween costumes that Gregg and I wore last month...even still...I'm new to garment decorating and it was so much fun designing these onesies! I can't wait to see Portia in all the designs! So cute!
...So here I sit...while watching Airbender w/my daughter Vanessa and I feel completely...YUCK! I am now 33 weeks and some days preggo...and in this last trimester, I have seriously taken on some not so great symptoms...Nausea has reared its ugly head...again...although I'm not throwing up like clockwork like in the first trimester, I am having an episode at least ONCE a week since week 28 and am having insanely wicked indigestion and heartburn...(this girl better have an abundance of hair lol since they say that is a precursor for the indigestion.) We will see, lol. I am feeling more and more sluggish and slow and hate that my energy is completely depleted. I am trying to remain optimistic but am failing miserably, lol. I am so excited for Portia to join us that these last few weeks will probably crawl by at a snail's speed which will make me even more crazy!!!!
...There is still SO MUCH to do to get ready for her arrival and organizing and just setting everything up. Gregg and I were able to score some great used Ikea Pax Wardrobes off of craigslist that will totally maximize the storage in our bedroom so I am very excited to get them put together so that all of my clothes will now reside in ONE room and not in random closets and dressers all over the house lol...and it frees up our current dresser to house all of Portia's stuff so I don't have to buy separate furniture for her either...love it!
So I fear this blog has gone wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too long so I will stop here until the next post. I'll leave you with my current preggo pix, lol.
33 weeks preggo!
Until next time, Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for your continued support of my blog, Stay Tuned!
