Last 9 weeks, we are in the homestretch!!!!

Alrighty....we are in the homestretch!!!  This is truly exciting and getting me anxious!!!  The final 9 WEEKS before our darling little one's arrival, wowwie!   It seems like only yesterday I was going into the fertility center to get implanted with my embryo and that initial 8 weeks wait was not only grueling but it was so cautionary as we didn't want get our hopes up only to find out that the implantation didn't take...but LUCKILY, it was a fabulous success!!!!  And we got our super sticky bean and now we are on the other end of the spectrum....the final 9 weeks and it's just....simply.......amazing!  The journey we've taken together to arrive at this final result...was well worth every moment...every heartache of every miscarriage and was worth all the disappointments we've endured in the last 3 years of trying to conceive...

This blog will be the beginning of weekly updates along w/other blogs/vlogs in between while I try to patiently wait til Labor and Delivery Day.  Thankfully, Gregg and I elected to continue the COBRA coverage for myself while Gregg gets private emergency insurance to hold us both over until the end of this year.  I completely missed my 2 OB appointments for the month of October due to the "limbo period" we hadn't decided on if we'd continue w/COBRA or not but at least, when I went into the hospital for that emergency visit I had a few weeks ago for the dehydration, I got some good checks w/my progress so all went well then.  This Wednesday I am going to resume going to see my OB and also will have a follow up ultrasound to my placenta previa issue I was having before.  This will be my 3rd follow up and so far, that darn placenta wants to stay sitting over my cervix lol...so it seems ...so far...that I will have to have a csection regardless as since you can't birth the placenta before the baby as it will cut off the baby's oxygen supply...so it may very well be that a VBAC isn't in my future but that will okay...so long as baby and me are healthy....so please do send prayers our way for easy and effortless labor and delivery!!!

So Halloween was yesterday and Gregg and I had a blast at a Halloween event we attended at a local bar/eatery in Philly.  My sister and her boyfriend came and we got dressed up and did the usual people watching and mingling.....and I was able to hang til about 12:30am so I was happy lol.  It was very cute how so many people actually thought I was dressed up as a pretend preggo lady lol...and didn't realize that I was truly pregnant...lol....the girls were super fascinated at the fact that I was carrying so small and just in my belly and I got some great compliments about the costume that I made for Gregg and myself...I copied the idea of "the bun baker" and "the bun in the oven" costume that many Halloween stores carry yet they were so expensive and I really didn't want to wear a "boxy" costume as I felt it would be too bulky...so I fashioned an image of an oven on a black shirt I bought at Target for $12 using fabric paints and drew a gigantic cinnamon bun on my bare belly while decorating a black apron and chef hat w/a matching theme for Gregg to wear.

Here is our costume below:
Chef hat says: The Bun Baker and the apron says: I used my cannoli to make a bun, lol.

My shirt says:  Bun in the Oven, Bake With Care, cooking time left: and then you see the oven and inside it says 9 weeks (which is how many weeks left til the baby arrives)

And here Gregg is sticking his finger in my belly button lol and painted on my belly is a gigantic cinnamon bun, lol.

Overall, we had a blast w/my sister and her boyfriend and the friends we saw out last night.  I am truly taking advantage of these last few weeks as I know once the baby arrives, we will be so limited to our normal socializing that we've grown accustomed to through these last few years...but I am sure we won't miss it too much as we are so excited to expand our family and spend time w/the new baby and eventually we will be able to have a babysitter give us a break every now and again...

My girlfriends and sister have been actively planning the baby shower which is only 2 weekends away, it has me so excited and I just can't wait to see them and just enjoy what a great day they have planned with family and friends.  I am so lucky and blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life and can only hope that I will be as great a friend to them as they are to me...friendships are such a gift and not everyone is so fortunate to have it...I love you girls and thank you so much for being a part of my life and leaving such an everlasting impression on my heart. :)

I will be sure to update all of you on my OB visit and ultrasound this week as well as hopefully, finally, I will be making the videos that I can keep talking about and not following through on...I will be posting soon a vlog on what I'm packing for the hospital, a video on tips and tricks related to streamlining my beauty regimen and things that I've learned to maintain through my pregnancy....and possibly some reviews on varying baby products and things I've received for the baby!

So stay tuned and thanks so much for supporting me and for following my blog.

Happy November!

Update--ER and dehydration...

...So it was quite unfortunate that when I posted my vlog on Friday I later admitted myself to the PETU (pregnancy emergency treatment unit) at my hospital...for dehydration...I had been battling diarrhea for 2 days and having contractions due to it and it wasn't getting better and the docs strongly urged me to check in for monitoring to rule out preterm labor....so...as it were...I admitted myself around 3pm and stayed til about 6:30pm...it wasn't too bad although I felt it so unnecessary to go there but it's always better to be safe than sorry....so I am grateful to get checked out and feel a bit more calm about it all...My dilemma now is I don't have diarrhea anymore, but now constipation has been plaguing me and that is NOT fun at all, lol.  I am feeling more constant lower back pain as well as braxton hicks contractions...and the baby is definitely busy moving around way more active than normal which is great yet I am totally exhausted to no avail.  I am so excited for this baby to join our family that...I can't even contain it lol.  I am dreaming crazy dreams and am so ready to set up everything baby...lol.  I am literally NO LIE peeing every 10 minutes which I don't even know how I'm going to deal....I'm seriously considering buying those female travel pee cups lmao....seriously did you know they even had female pee funnels?  I never even ever thought to look into it until now...since it seems like such a necessity!  http://www.go-girl.com/     I just can't risk any accidents while I am driving or Lord only knows where it will hit me...

Vanessa told me that I definitely popped out and LOOK so preggo now and she likes it! lol....It is truly so surreal that I am about 80 something days away...from my scheduled c-section and I really believe I will go earlier than that so it's just overwhelming to think we will have this cute bundle of joy joining our family very soon and I can only hope and pray that everyone will transition okay...meanwhile, my girlfriends and sister are actively planning my baby shower...which is super neat!  I was able to find some really cool favors for both guys and gals that I think are so unique and practical all at the same time and am so excited to just mingle and hang out w/all of my friends!  Gregg and I are also gonna be hanging out w/some great friends for Halloween and are still trying to figure out what our costumes will be...we were thinking either the couple's bun in the oven and bunmaker costume or....the plug and socket costume.....so we shall see if I end up doing that at all...
7 months (almost 29 wks) preggo!

...and I have yet to schedule my maternity portraits....and do my belly cast....and just get all of my stuff together to pack for my hospital, baby and postpartum bags....so it's all gradually coming together...

...as I continue to "expand" and get further along in my pregnancy, I am getting more and more paranoid about the other varying side effects...that come with it...the swollen ankles...the possible stretchmarks that may decide to rear their ugly head (although I didn't have them w/Vanessa, you never know as each pregnancy is different) the acne and melasma...which I had active breakouts and a very noticeable pregnancy mask across the middle of my face when I was preggo the first time...so I'm almost anticipating their reoccurrences and am very thankful they haven't...YET but I'm trying to prepare myself in the event that they do...

...it's amazing that I continue to be as vain as I am lol...and in all honesty, it just makes me feel better knowing that I look presentable....I would hate to be the mom or woman that has a last minute anything and shows up looking like a disheveled mess...although it's totally OK to be...with the exhaustion that I am feeling, it's a wonder I can get up! lol.  my daily routine consists of dropping off and picking Vanessa up from school...eating throughout the day and I always attempt to get an hour nap inbetween but sometimes it doesn't happen.  I do feel fortunate that I have been able to stay home during this pregnancy as it was a bit harder for me this time around YET it's been totally trippin' me out that I haven't worked since end of February...I remember feeling this way after giving birth to Vanessa...she was such a good baby and I ran out of stuff to do and she was so great at keeping herself entertained, I just about went stircrazy staying home and I feel like that will happen with this baby as well...I can only handle staying at home for so long before I crack, lol...

...anyways nothing exciting to report but just a rambling of sorts.  It's only just around the corner and Baby Davis will be here w/our family---I just can't...believe it still... :)

...until the next update, be happy and enjoy your day!
